Cars in Germany's Town Found Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Confirm
Area Police
Around 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Officers state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued liquid.
The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then found numerous other smeared vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.
Police state initial examinations suggest the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.
"There is still no lead as to its origin; investigators are not yet aware of any harm in connection with the incident," they added.
City officials said they were trying "to resolve the case" and have requested to the residents for information.
A senior representative stated the incident made him speechless and required to be resolved promptly.
"This incident hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he stated on a platform, referring to the death of nine victims by a assailant aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
